Comparison is the thief of joy- 162 Days Out

Start focusing on your own joy. Whatever that means for you.


So many times I will get messages about how lucky I am that I'm always motivated. How they wish they could do this. I will also get messages talking about how they could never do this. How I look like a man. How I look "unhealthy" stage lean or will say "you must be doing it wrong if you gained weight after the show"


My response is, to those that wish they could do something like this... then do it! You're capable of so much more than you think.

My response to the negative comments I usually jus thank them for the feedback and say "this makes me happy, I hope you find something that brings you joy too"


I say this because, in the era of social media and constant comparisons... everyone's journey is not the same.

I've been weightlifting and strength training for 10 years now.


Should I be farther along in my journey? Probably... but the thing is... I've enjoyed every stage of my journey. Whether that was the periods of lush drinking. The times I would experiment with diets. All of it.


It wasn't always pretty, and it sure as well wasn't always ideal..: but I never stopped showing up for myself.


Even during quarantine. I always found a way to move. While I idealized others, I tried to not compare myself to the other fitness influencers. Because I didn't want to get discouraged.

Not sure if this makes sense to anyone else... but I hope it helps if you are feeling discouraged sometimes. Just know, the journey isn't linear. The journey is special, because the journey is YOURS.
